THE WALK IS OVER BUT THE FUNDRAISING IS NOT. WE ARE SHORT OF OUR GOAL OF $7,000 PLEASE HELP US REACH THIS NUMBER, AND HELP THOSE WHO TODAY ARE LIVING WITH AIDS AND HIV BY DONATING WHAT YOU CAN TO OUR TEAM PAGE OR MY PERSONAL PAGE.

PITCH #2 SEND AIDS TO POLIOLAND!

AIDS is a TOTAL DICK and Noele and I would like to invite you to be generous in your admonishment of it. This generosity can of course be expressed in a multitude of ways, but our preference for the next few weeks is that you do so by supporting (AKA DONATING)  Noele and I as we join thousands of others and walk with our Team Art With An Agenda the morning of May 4th which follows the opening of our massive marriage equality show LOVE. SEX. UNITY. RESPECT..

AIDS chose our generation to mess with, and 30 years later it continues to attack and terrorize the weakest and most vulnerable across the globe. Conservative estimates tell us that around 30 million people are living with the AIDS/HIV virus and that 300,000 children died of AIDS related causes in the last 12 months alone.  Not content to only destroy the body, AIDS too often is successful in diminishing the value and dignity of its victims through the fear and prejudices that it brings out in others.  AIDS is a TOTAL DICK, and AIDS needs to be drawn, quartered, and shipped off to wherever Polio went to retire.

If the above is not enough motivation for you to help us in reaching our goal of raising 1,500 personally for of the $7,000 team goal.   In the next five weeks. Let me reassert that AIDS and I came of age at exactly the same time, and I’m still holding a grudge. When AIDS first came to town I was 16, I had red hair, I had moved here from another country, I referred to my pants as trousers, and my stutter, juiced up on angst and teenage hormones, was hall of fame worthy.  Girls at my high school did exactly need one more reason to NOT sleep with me. Not cool, AIDS!  That’s said, please give!

So there it is, my humble pitch complete with an obnoxious line to grab your attaching, heart breaking facts, a little editorializing, a self-effacing look back at my youth, and a fun new term to try on friends and family ….now it’s up to you.
